Dealing with Rejection

Rejection is frustrating, yet common because of the tendency for people to "fall upward" - to be attracted to someone higher on the social ladder (or perceived to be higher).  It's possible that you would lose interest in the objection of your affection if you rose above him or her on the ladder.  He or she has an aura of strength, that seems able to weather all obstacles with ease - an aura that implies a knowledge of the answers to life.  This makes you want him or her.  Of course physical beauty is a factor, but I believe the stronger force is the aura of unattainability. 

You can attain that aura.

I have to wear a seatbelt?!

I hope you know the title is a joke.  Some libertarians get very upset, though, that "Big-Government" is forcing people to wear seatbelts when they drive (and helmets when they ride a motorcycle).  I'm a little confused about the source of their anger, though.
